Please take any issues you may have up with the professional you booked with.
Makeup Trials
A Brides Wedding Makeup cannot be booked without a Makeup Trial before the wedding date, equally a trial cannot be booked without first securing your wedding date Makeup non-refundable deposit.
During a Makeup Trial sometimes it can tricky to communicate your exact vision. I encourage all clients to communicate freely with their likes and dislikes, my goal is to work with you to achieve your vision, tweaking where needed. A Makeup Trial is designed to try out colours, styles and looks the client would like to try to determine the final look on their Wedding day, Special Occasion or Prom, duration of 1-3hrs.
A Makeup Trial is not designed to test the quality and durability of the Makeup/Products, this has already been tried and tested by the manufacturer.
Makeup Trial Makeup’s are not designed to be kept on for later for a day/evening out as it’s a trial, often lipstick and eyeshadow colours are removed/re-applied so it’s not a flawless application. Makeup Trial Makeup’s are recommended to be removed/cleaned after they’re completed, this especially applies to Brides in keeping with the final reveal on their Wedding day to their Groom/Bride to be.
Makeup is Subjective – If the client doesn’t like the makeup looks applied by the makeup artist, is undecided, or not liking anything tried during the makeup trial and on completion with the maximum timed session of 1-3hrs being used – the makeup artist has provided a service regardless of the client’s likes, dislikes, undecided or inconclusive outcome and therefore the trial fee will still be charged. There is no obligation to keep the Wedding Day Makeup booking/Special Occasion Makeup booking, Prom Makeup booking once the trial is completed and paid for, but the £30-£100 deposit securing your Wedding Day Makeup booking, Special Occasion Makeup booking, Prom Makeup booking, will be lost and is non refundable regardless of the clients likes, dislikes or inconclusive/undecided outcome.
If after the Makeup trial is completed and the client is still undecided, does not like any of the makeup looks applied by the makeup artist, or cannot make up their mind, at the Makeup Artist’s discretion, they may either book in and pay for another makeup trial after having some time away to research ideas, apply the new researched ideas directly on the wedding day (at the Makeup Artists discretion) or if the client wishes to try another makeup artist’s style there is no obligation to keep the wedding day/special occasion makeup booking, but the wedding day/special occasion makeup booking deposit will be lost and will not be refunded.
The Makeup Artist has the right to terminate the Makeup Trial, Makeup booking, or any future Makeup bookings at anytime if any abuse, aggression, unreasonable behaviour is directed at the makeup artist verbally or physically in person, on a phone call, via text, email or in writing, fees still apply and deposits will not be refunded.
Makeup Trial Cancellations by the Client – If the Brides/Client makeup Trial is postponed/cancelled by the Client/Bride and cannot be reasonably rescheduled with notice to the makeup artist by the client/Bride, the wedding makeup cannot be done without a makeup trial and the booking could be subject to cancellation, the wedding makeup booking deposit is non-refundable. If a Wedding Makeup Trial for the Bride/Bridesmaid/Mother of the Bride/Groom or Guest is rescheduled/postponed/cancelled at short notice by the Client/Bride (2 weeks’ notice is required, for rescheduling in the same year) the Trial fee for each person will still be charged for the original date agreed, separate fees will still apply to trial dates if rescheduled.
Postponing Wedding Makeup/Trials/Special Occasion Makeup – If for whatever reason you need to postpone your Wedding Makeup/Trials till the following year(s) the deposits already paid will be lost and new deposits will be taken for your new dates.
Makeup Lesson – If the two hour Makeup Lesson overruns or is not completed due to a client needing more time learning a specific technique/skill, a lesson is interrupted by the clients domestic arrangements such as phone calls, builders, neighbours calling by etc.. the client has the choice to extend the lesson and agree to pay the extra billable hourly rate, schedule in another makeup lesson, or finish the lesson in the time allocated.
Consultation Questionnaire – It is the client’s responsibility to complete the consultation questionnaire in as much detail as possible and return to the makeup artist 1 week before the appointment if no trial has been booked/completed. If the consultation questionnaire is returned with detail missing, little or no information the makeup artist will assume you give permission to the makeup artist to use their professional experience to create a look that compliments you/the event.
Makeup Expectations – Makeup cannot remove wrinkles, bags under eyes, severe dark circles, tighten loose skin, or dramatically reduce age.
Please be realistic with photos/looks you want me to duplicate/recreate. I cannot change eye shapes, dramatically reduce age, apply filters, lighting, or photoshop airbrushing on real time faces like Instagram, Pinterest or other social media platforms do.
The Makeup Artist cannot be responsible for the Makeup cosmetic/products reliability, durability, function, duration, quality or performance throughout the day and night, please take up any issues you have with the manufacturer of the product.
I mainly use high end premium makeup/cosmetic brands, client feedbacks of performance in my reviews speak for themselves, but I cannot guarantee the performance of the brands used on the day as each individual’s skin/body may react differently.
Makeup on your Wedding Day/Special Occasion Day – It is the Brides/Client’s responsibility to ensure all bridesmaids, mother of the bride/groom or other guests booked in for makeup know their time slots, are present at the agreed location and are on time for their allocated makeup slot. The makeup artist is not responsible for late arrivals to makeup.
If a bridesmaid/mother of the bride/groom or guest for makeup is more than 20mins late to their allocated time slot, it will be subject to cancellation by not abiding by the terms and conditions set out in this section, full payment will still be charged.
Allergies
It is the clients responsibility to tell the Makeup Artist of any skin allergies, specific ingredients/products they’re allergic to, allergies/irritations to false eyelash glues or glitters/glues, eye conditions, health conditions, skin conditions, prior to the trial/appointment and before any makeup application. I use a wide range of products and cosmetic/makeup brands, some are Hypo-allergic others are not. Please note, a medical letter may be needed to approve makeup application if any health conditions apply to the client, the makeup artist has the right to refuse the booking without it or if the risk is too high to the client. Please be aware, allergies can happen at any time with any product. Client(s) agree to release the Makeup Artist from liability for any facial skin, neck, eyes, rest of body/skin complications due to allergic reactions on application of makeup at the makeup trial and future applications, including on the wedding day, special occasion day, Prom day, or on a makeup lesson.
Animal Testing/Cruelty – It is the client’s responsibility to alert the makeup artist of any personal beliefs on animal tested products. Most Cosmetic companies no longer use these practices but may have in the past, or used technology gained from past practises. If this is of concern please advise the makeup artist of the cosmetic companies you’re happy/not happy to use prior to your booking.
Vegan Makeup – I have some Vegan products but do not have a large or specific collection.
Terms and Conditions – Makeup by JC has the right to update Terms and Conditions at any time.
It is the client’s responsibility to read the terms and conditions sent at the time of the booking, any concerns should be raised at that time.
Cancellations/Changes made by the Makeup Artist
In the event of an unforeseen circumstance which could occur (e.g. an accident/illness, travel problems, etc.) if this happens, I’ll do my best to source an alternative makeup artist on the day. If I’m unable to do so, a refund of your wedding day makeup deposit for any work that hasn’t been carried out will be issued within 1 week, any makeup trials that have been completed prior will not be refunded as the work has already been carried out.
For your piece of mind, I have never arrived late, been ill or not arrived for any reason to any of my Brides/Clients in the 25 years I’ve been a Makeup Artist.
Weather Conditions/Makeup Durability
The Makeup Artist cannot be responsible for extreme weather conditions that may affect your Makeup on the day. I use some of the best brands in the industry to ensure your makeup will stay in place and last. In the recent extreme heat/humidity and temperatures it’s been very challenging, thankfully my clients have understood that facial pores will produce sweat, pores cannot be closed. No amount of high end Prima, foundation or finishing spray will stop sweat/oil producing. I’ve had some amazing clients throughout extreme heat who understand this, and have took my advice on how best to preserve the makeup in these hot temperatures.
The Makeup Artist cannot be responsible for the Makeup products reliability, durability, function, duration, quality or performance throughout the day and night, each individuals reaction to products may be different, please take up any issues you have with the manufacturer of the product.
Group Bookings
Group Makeup Trials or bookings will be subject to additional charges. Bookings for Brides/Bridesmaids/Hens or any groups together would be additional time needed, as I would normally be working with one person one on one, more than one person on a makeup trial accumulates more time. A Brides trial can be between 1-3hrs depending on the person, it’s more specialised and takes more time, with bridesmaids/people added on at the same time, more time would be accumulated.
False Eyelash Application – The Makeup Artist cannot be responsible for false eyelash strips (even if supplied/applied by the makeup artist) or Magnetic strips for staying on/in place, lifting off or causing irritation or allergies. Please take any issues you have up with the manufacturer of the product.
I advise my clients to have lash extensions as the glues are much stronger and more reliable than strip lash glues or magnetic lashes.
Travel
Please be advised that a travel surcharge for fuel/time will be added outside of Eastbourne.
Please be advised a Parking surcharge will be added for Eastbourne Town Centre/Seafront.
